What is an Orthodontist?

The orthodontist is a specialist dentist. This means that after five years of dental studies leading to the degree of dentistry, has studied and specialized in orthodontics at an accredited university abroad or in Greece for an additional 3 years, and has gained through exams the title "Special Orthodontics" from the Ministry health. 

The three-year specialization and legal certification, it is necessary to obtain comprehensive knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of orthodontic problems.

The orthodontist diagnoses orthodontic problems, devises a treatment plan and implements the braces, which controls, regulates and adjusts at regular visits, to achieve the optimal final result.

Through dental associations, anyone interested may verify that the dentist which has been addressed is Specialist Orthodontist.
